Good performance against a very cynical Farnborough side, who set out to frustrate and stop us playing with continual fouling, time wasting etc. Great to see us going with an attacking formation and it proved to be effective, with the three forward players getting a goal each. Lucas especially looked like an excellent prospect. He played like an old fashioned centre-forward, backing into defenders, holding up the ball and playing in others, winning headers etc. We played some excellent passing football and got behind their defence, several times. Their 2 goals came from defensive mistakes, which will need to be cut out as we go forward but that will hopefully come from the team getting to know each other.

sounds like we played well we really need to iron out these mistakes though, thats 3 goals conceded in 2 games which all came because of individual errors! which on saturday cost us the game, hopefully as the season goes on these will happen less and less. As for Lucas, totally agree, really looks the part, physical, always running into space and surprisingly quick, far and away the best striker we've currently got hopefully we can keep him all season!

Despite the mistakes , 3 points after 2 games is better than I expected , thought we would get a point on Saturday then hoped for a point last night so this is good stuff

Post match interview with the Farnborough manager, he's not a happy bunny. www.farnboroughfc.co.uk/2014/08/farnborough-vs-weston-super-mare-managers-interview/Not sure what game he was watching. Not enough physicality??? All they had was physicality, that was their entire game plan to frustrate, niggle, foul, push, grab shirts etc. Poor defending for the goals?? 1st goal an excellent passing move down the right wing, first time cross and great finish from Lucas, getting across in front of the defender. 2nd goal, well worked free-kick with Tom Jordan running a decoy to pull the centre-half and leave Harris free to head home. 3rd goal, a Grubby special, picked the ball up near the left hand touchline and cut inside before curling the ball into the far corner from 20 yards. Not sure I would put any of those down to poor defending.

Grubby's goal looks even better than it did live. Great strike.

@steve no idea what he was doing, that was one of the defensive mistakes I mentioned in my first post. Don't know if he just mis-judged the ball or if he got a shout, from a defender or what happened but it was definitely a mess. He did make it up with a couple of good saves in the 2nd half.
