I would like to see a few changes before next season starts so here are my ins and outs for the club: OUT: Anyone called Laird , Chaz Hemmings , 451 formation , cappille & stephens IN: Ryan northmore or Macca , Jake Harris , regular starts for the new academy players, 442 formation , a proper investor . I don't expect many of you will agree with all of this so lets hear your ins and outs.

Don't agree with anything you have said, jake Harris? Have you seen the lad play? He really struggles to control a football, the idea of academy players in the first team is all good and well, but if you want a team full of academy players playing in the conference south we will get relagated.

I agree with most of what you say Steve, one Laird in particular should be gone - to be fair on him ! Can't get my head round the comment regarding Jake Harris - personally I would rather have a player like him who in John's opinion can't control a ball but scores lots of goals, than a player who can control a ball but can't run and can't score ! Games are won by goals scored aren't they ?? Anyway, the argument is invalid as Hemmings will be undoubtedly snapped up by one of the clubs lining up to sign him, as I seem to remember the statement said on the club's JokeBook page earlier in the season !!!! I fear it will be same old, same old, next season.

I didn't say I want the team full of academy players , I said regular starts for the ones coming through as in Camper , Ash , Llewellyn and a few more given a chance . And yes I have seen Harris play , I watched him before he left us for Newport and I've watched him since he came back in the few games he has started and he is clearly a better striker than some at the club yet we let him go on duel registration, I would like to see him back next year up front with Camper.

So you want the most successful manager in the clubs history out? Together with a formation that has brought the club it's highest league position and 2 Somerset cups? What is this based on?

There have been some strange posts on this board but this one is the stupidest. You really have to wonder if steveh has actually seen any games, this season, or is capable of reading the league table, which shows that Weston are in the top half with the one of the smallest and youngest squads and lowest budget in the league.

So you are saying Steveh is not allowed an opinion that differs from yours ? Makes me wonder if Traveller is one of the people Steveh wanted to see leave ! More likely Traveller is connected to the club ! Maybe he is the enigma that is 'Capille' !!! Strange isn't it that when we had a good chance of achieving something this season the EGM was called scuppering what chance we had. I can read the League table and it shows over the last 4 years 12th, 13th, 7th and now 11th - Hardly progress ! No wonder the club can't attract new support they aren't interested in gaining promotion or in seeking investment !

Of course Steve is entitled to his opinion and I'm entitled to agree or disagree with that opinion, that's how a discussion board works. I have no connection with the club other than going to matches and I get just as pissed off with the board/lack of investment etc as everybody else.
But Steve's post was nonsensical:
He wants rid of the most successful manager in the club's history He wants to get rid of Jamie Laird, who is among the top 10 centre halfs in the league He wants to change our current formation which (and sorry to repeat myself) is the most successful in the clubs history He wants to get rid of Chas, despite the fact that he has been one of our most consistent players and is regularly picked as our MOM by opposition supporters He wants to bring in Jake Harris, who has let the club down on numerous occasions and isn't that great a player, even if he didn't have serious attitude problems. I agree re bringing in Academy players but we have had 3 come through this season, so again not sure how many more he thinks we should be playing

Do you not remember the club finishing in the relegation zone 3 out of 5 times? The club wont attract new support because of negative cretins like yourself! I agree with traveller. Be careful what you wish for Furrow or you may end up watching Southern league of Toolstation football. Lets face it, the club is run like that from the very top!

i really don't believe people are still defending hemmings, that whole MOM thing was a joke. he was being picked for reasons other than his performance. which has been pretty crap all season not sure how accurate these numbers are but i will take them since they are on the w-s-m site westonsmareafc.co.uk/player/chaz-hemmings/ but 6 goals in 48 apperances is pretty shit for any striker especially one who is playing in a 4-5-1 formation so i agree chaz out, or at least relegated to the bench but if reports are true and they are going to sign 7 players who will be on the sheet each week and they sign Chaz up as the main striker.... god forbid its only gonna drive more fans away because it shows they have no ambition or intention to listen to 99% of the fans. as far as 4-5-1 goes we scored 50 goals this season 5th lowest in the league, 3/4 teams who scored less are down the only reason we where not fighting it out with them is a OK defense and aq star keeper in Lloyd! meaning we only conceded 55. so switching to a more aggressive formation and keeping the same back 4 and keeper might result in more goals without conceding to many more. who knows but at least try something new! as for laird out? yes and no. Jamie and Craig no i know craig has been a bit up and down but i beliee its whats happening in the board room tieing his hands that to blame for most of it. Jamie is a decent defender. however Callum laird in the first team has nepotism written all over it! but hey that's my opinion and like you said im entitled to it. just like you are to post anonymous nonsensical responses

Brilliant!!! I've achieved what I set out to get , a real debate , this forum has been too quiet lately. My wanting Laird out may be controversial but I believe he has taken the club as far as he can , his constant excuse of having no budget really is no excuse , he has a really talented squad at the moment and if I was one of them I would be a bit pissed off that he keeps saying he needs more money to attract better players! BTW traveller I haven't missed a home game all season so I base my opinions on what I see.

"i really don't believe people are still defending hemmings,"
It's very easy to 'defend' Chas, not that he needs defending. He has been one of the most consistent players in the team, week in and week out. He is constantly rated by opposition fans as our best player. He doesn't score enough goals but neither do the rest of the team and unfortunately we can't afford a 20-25 goal a season striker. Chas is well ahead of anybody else we could get for the same wages. You only have to look at teams like Eastleigh or Chelmsford, who have strikers who are on more than our entire squad. I don't think we'd get very far with one 20 goal a season striker and the rest of the squad made up of fat lads off the terraces.

We now have Syd Camper who changes the game every time he gets on the pitch. I think Chaz's problem is his manager playing him in the wrong position.

Absolutely agree, he looks like he has the makings of a great player. Unfortunately he hasn't been available to the first team much this season as he's been playing several games a week with the underage teams, who are doing well. He will hopefully be available more next season and will become a 1st team regular, if somebody else doesn't come in for him.
"I think Chaz's problem is his manager playing him in the wrong position."
Agree to an extent but as previously mentioned, we have very little budget and can only play what we can afford. Hopefully next season we'll have Camper and Chas playing as a 2 up front, if either of them are still with the club.

I think Chaz's problem is his manager playing him in the wrong position. indeed even both up front would be better but chaz as a lone striker is to slow, for a guy of his size not very good in the air, and amazingly lacks any real power in his shots! however he dose have good control and a decent pass and if there was someone up with him so he wasn't getting marked out the whole game he might be more usefull! im far from saying put him on a horse and send his out of town. but playing him upfront again next season is just gonna be a waste of time!
