OK so maybe my opinions aren't as crazy as first thought , this is what happens when you debate rather than just dismiss them, even traveller is sort of agreeing with me so lets talk formation, I have never been a fan of 451 unless you have a bloody good striker in your squad. My preference for 442 might have something to do with my age lol but even some premier teams are playing it now and scoring more goals which you need to win a game. I have watched countless games where we dominate the midfield but fail in the final third, nice to watch but doesn't win games. At one point in the season we had about 5 or 6 strikers in the squad but still only played with one even when we were losing the game (which could bring me back to the manager again) I think they have all gone now , correct me if I'm wrong please. Please respond with your own opinion which will probably differ to mine , but hey that's democracy !

Anthony, it would be helpful if you would read and understand the posts before posting ! I will not descend to your level of vitriol but will explain for you the meaning of my post. The four seasons I have quoted are the only seasons so far in the tenure of Craig Laird which is what the thread was debating ! I do remember the years of finishing in the relegation zone - but even this is considered progression from playing Southern League football, it's all relative. I have never denigrated the achievements of Craig Laird and the team but consider the Board's lack of ambition has held the team back. Every Manager and player wants to progress, hence Craig Laird applying for the Forest Green post and Tristan Plummer leaving for Aldershot - it's natural, and the majority of supporters are the same - they want their team to succeed. I assume you are saying you are quite happy for the team to muddle along with an ever decreasing budget ? don't forget that although Paul Bliss has bankrolled the team to the tune of 1.7 million over 10 years I believe this is far outweighed by the value of the land the club sits on. I'm not quite sure what you assume I am wishing for but I think recent events and the Board's fear of success will lead to loss of support and will see us playing Southern league or Toolstation football before much longer as the crowds we get cannot sustain Conference South football but this again is down to the Board being less than proactive !
